    What a JOKE

The NFL Defensive Player of the year, that is.

Last year, Charles Woodson won it over the more deserving Darrelle Revis, and this year Troy Palomalu, who missed two games, received the award over Clay Matthews.

Just ridiculous. No doubt Palomalu is good, but he was nowhere near as outstanding across the board like Matthews was.

    Mathews was awesome.

    Re: What a JOKE

what got me was that Troy missed parts of like four games, including the two whole games, and yet he was still given the DPOY.

Its a joke., two years running.

    Re: What a JOKE

Agreed. He didn't even lead the league in interceptions. Did you see his play against Baltimore in the playoffs? Missing tackles and getting trucked.

They said Ed Reed got 1 vote. He missed 6 games, and still lead the league in interceptions.

I would have given to Mathews.

If Green Bay doesn't roll this Super Bowl... I'm almost betting it'll come down to a penalty against Green Bay, that sets Pitt up to win #7 and the whole Big Ben comeback story. Blah on Pitt.

    sorry to hi-jack the thread...

but I can't stand Pitt, anything about it. I don't want to see them win at anything, ever. It has nothing to do with the fact I'm a Baltimore fan, I just can't stand Pitt. Can't really explain it, just don't like em.

I was shocked to hear Polamalu won also. Sounds like Matthews was the favorite.

    Re: What a JOKE

thats an AWESOME point Steer. Ed Reed missed more games than Polamalu, yet he had more INTs.

Polamalu had like 30 more tackles in 14 games. Reed had 37 in 10 games. Give him four more games, he gets roughly 50 tackles, only 10 behind Troy.

Both had same amount of fumbles forced.

    Re: What a JOKE

It was given to the NFL's poster boy. I'm betting the NFL is making some kind of percentage off of Troy's Head and Shoulders deal. He gets defensive player of the year, his stock goes up, their percentage gets better.
